Day 2

Pretty Boring day. We got out on the road this morning around 8am. Rain hit us about 45 minutes in, but was not very heavy and didn't last long. We drove all the way from St. Charles, MO to Murdo, SD. I'm not sure how far that is, but we stopped around 11pm local time.

Gas was good again today, we averaged around 24mpg and filled up for $2.79/gallon both times.

We stopped for dinner at Mitchel, SD, then, a brief tour of the town to see the world famous corn palace. We were in a hurry, so we didn't go in.

We haven't seen much wildlife yet, just a few deer and a few turkeys (not including Lily). We did however, run into bugs this evening, literally thousands of them. As we drove down the interstate, they rose like columns of black smoke randomly scattered down the interstate. As we drove through them, it sounded like a hailstorm as they hit the windshild. I'll have to take a picture of the front of our van; you won't believe it!

I'll post more later.
